The Morris Minor was so cheap that after British Motor Corporation merged with Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968, it was discovered that the company actually lost 9 GBP ($168 in today’s dollars) on every Morris Minor sold. Multiply that by the number of sales that mass-produced economy cars usually get and the manufacturer’s financial troubles won’t come as a surprise.
