When one of the founders of your company is responsible for building the first gasoline-powered car, that’s a fact you want to remind people of as much as possible. This is exactly what Mercedes did with the F-Cell Roadster concept in 2009. This concept is a throwback to the Benz Motorwagen from the 1880s, featuring the iconic bicycle wheels and replacing the steering wheel with a joystick reminiscent of the lever that was used to steer the original. Despite high tech like the fiberglass body and hydrogen fuel cell power, the top speed is only 25 km/h, which is how you know the car is more of an art piece than a functional vehicle.
